Eve Pearl Pro Mixing Palette review and photos.

Eve Pearl Pro Mixing Palettes.

There are very few makeup accessories/tools that successfully capture my attention.  In all fairness, many are geared toward professional makeup artistry and are not intended for the mainstream.  Then again, my dubious nature automatically dismisses these products as fads or clever marketing ploys designed to garnish more sales.  Such is not the case with Eve Pearl Pro Mixing Palette ($30 for two).  This is one “professional” accessory that has proven it’s worth many times over.  I hope you enjoy.

The Pros to Eve Pearl Pro Mixing Palette:

  1. Comes with two palettes per order–black and silver.
  2. Different colors make it easy to distinguish each palette’s purpose–one for foundation and concealer, the other for eyes and lips.
  3. Rectangular shape is discreet, yet sizable.
  4. Malleable material is rather durable and slips on the fingers easily–especially on larger fingers.
  5. Multiple palettes can be used on the same hand–up to three at once.
  6. Lightweight design is truly feather-light.
  7. Scratch resistant surface is easily cleaned–even in the presence of long-wearing formulas.
  8. Makeup application is more sanitary–especially if applied to others.
  9. “Made of a non-porous material for durability.”
  10. A must-have for makeup artists and those of us with excessively dry hands (explanation below).
  11. Due to the thin design, the palette fits neatly in any drawer or makeup kit.

The Cons to Eve Pearl Pro Mixing Palette:

  1. The adjustable ring does not accommodate slim fingers.  I tried to tighten the band to fit my ring finger more securely, but I found the material did not want to hold its shape.
  2. Country of origin and/or material used is not specified anywhere on the box or product info page.
  3. Expensive–purchasing during the Eve Pearl Black Pearl sale (which I did) is highly advisable.

  • The purpose for my purchase was to rid myself from using the back of my hand to mix foundation and lipstick colors.  I know this sounds so trivial, but for those of us plagued with excessively dry skin on our hands, the constant wiping causes skin to crack, feel unbearable and appear unsightly.  This palette has made makeup concocting so much more pleasurable during my morning routine.  🙂
  • As you can tell from the photos above, the ring-like design allows the palette to rest against the contours of the hand very nicely.  In the spirit of full disclosure, I rarely use the palettes in this manner.  For my personal use, I simply hold the band attachment between my thumb and index fingers.
  • When I applied makeup to my mother, I found wearing the palette on my middle finger provided the ideal proximity for applying foundation, concealer and liner with easy and speed.

  • For the above photos, my Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation (reviewed here) was mixed with Mally Beauty Perfect Prep Poreless Primer (here).  Normally this long-lasting concoction does not remove smoothly from the back of my hand–a good dose of scrubbing with a tissue is often required.
  • However, cleanup was totally effortlessly with the Eve Pearl Pro Mixing Palette–saving my skin from unnecessary scrubbing and exceedingly parched conditions.

  • From time to time, in an attempt to consume some of the liquid matte lipsticks in my collection, I like to mix colors together.  However, as we all know, matte liquid lipsticks can be quite arduous to remove when given the opportunity to dry–not the best scenario for my dry skin.
  • The Eve Pearl Pro Mixing Palette not only exhibits the colors more accurately, but the newly formed mixture does not dry-out on the “non-porous” surface and removal is a breeze.  For the above photo, Lime Crime Wicked (ultra drying/long-lasting formula) was mixed with Dose of Colors Merlot.

  • The clever slender design of these palettes, allows for easy storage–my two lovelies are inconspicuously stashed away alongside my face brushes.

THE VERDICT:  If Makeup Could Talk what would it say?

Makeup would tell you Eve Pearl Pro Mixing Palette is beyond useful–bordering on necessary.  The amazing size, scratch-resistant surface, lightweight feel, ring design, amount given and convenient storage makes this purchase totally worth the expense.  As mentioned in my previous post, Eve Pearl hosts a number of Black Pearl sales throughout the year–all of her merchandise is discounted 40%, 50% and 60% off.  At the time of my purchase, the Pro Palette was 60% off ($12).  Signing up for email alerts for the next Black Pearl sale (most likely on Black Friday) would be the perfect opportunity to sample this amazing brand.  Until next time, be well, stay safe and be happy.
