There is no denying how much I adore Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows. The pigmentation, cream-like texture, long-lasting wear, color choices and blendability are amazing. So rather than bore you with repetitious accolades, I decided to simply show you how each of my newest additions wear. I hope you enjoy 🙂
- ME-728 is a gorgeous copper with a strong red undertone. Unfortunately, my camera did not capture the beautiful warm tones that were so evident in-person. This shade was so pigmented, a very light hand was required during application. Admittedly, the metallic finish was very distinct against my skin tone; definitely not office appropriate. As with most of these shadows, the more they are blended the creamier the finish.
- I-804 is a straight-up golden pink color, very reminiscent of Nars Orgasm. This gorgeous shade can be used in the crease to add warmth, but my purpose for this shade is to use it as a blush. I prefer to dip my blush brush in the color and then spray my brush lightly with water and apply the color to my cheeks. The results yield a beautiful luminous pink hue that is natural without the need for a highlighter (I did not just say that).
- I-648 is a neutral golden shade that can be used all over the lid for the fastest look ever. This shade pairs beautifully with most colors. The smooth non-glaring finish would suit all ages and is completely work appropriate.
- M-510 is a yellow based vanilla matte shade that applies smoothly without looking chalky. This shade is used for a brow bone highlight, an all over lid color and to tone down stronger colors. I can foresee hitting pan on this darling very soon.
** All colors were applied over Nars Eyeshadow Primer.
For the above photos, ME-728 was applied all over the lids with my ring finger. I-804 was applied directly on top with I-648 placed on the inner ¼ of the eye for a gradient effect. ME-654 (reviewed here) was used lightly on the outer corners and crease. As a finishing touch, M-510 was used on the brow bone. A combination of ME-654 and ME-728 was applied to the lower lash line. I-804 was used with a dampened brush on the cheeks as a blush.
For the above photos, M-510 was applied all over the lid and brow bone with my Chikuhodo Z-5 Eyeshadow Brush (reviewed here), followed by M-600 (reviewed here) added to the crease. A combination of ME-654 and I-648 was applied to the lower lash line with YSL 3 Noir Bronze (reviewed here) used for the liner. I-804 was used dry on the cheeks as a blush.
For the above look, I-648 was used all over the lid with M-600 in the crease and M-510 on the brow bone. A light dab of I-524 (reviewed here) was applied to the inner corner. I-804 was used dry on the cheeks as a blush.
For this final look, I-648 was applied with my ring finger on the lid with M-510 applied directly on top with a little extra applied to the inner corners. The effect was luminous without appearing overdone. To define the eye, I used my Chikuhodo Z-5 Eyeshadow Brush to apply ME-600 to the crease and M-510 on the brow bone. For the lower lash line, I used my Meme Eyeshadow Brush (reviewed here) to apply ME-654 and I-648. This look reminded me of something a bride would wear on her wedding day; simple, elegant and polished.
