THE VERDICT:  If makeup could talk what would it say?

Makeup would tell you other than my neutral eye look, these two eye looks and lip combinations of the week have been on constant rotation.  I find each look very quick and easy when I am pressed for time. These looks do not require much in terms of talent or technique, but the end results are quite polished.  My Billy B #12 brush has been essential in creating both looks (reviewed here).  I hope you found this helpful. Be well and stay safe.

Makeup of the Week Eighth Edition.

Makeup of the Week Eighth Edition.

Makeup of the Week Eighth Edition.

This has been a very busy week.  My children started school and that in it of itself is always stressful.  The silver lining in this scenario is, I have gained some much needed time to myself.  I had time to carefully apply my makeup without any interruptions, it’s the little things in life that make me happy.  Admittedly, I do miss my eldest son’s commentaries and photographic assistance.

This week’s look was centered around my lashes.  Truthfully, I never gave them much thought, until Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara came into my life.  The delivery of zero flaking, no clumps, no stiffness all wrapped-up in a lightweight formula was enough for me to declare, love at first application!  I hope you find this post helpful.

THE VERDICT:  If makeup could talk what would it say?

Makeup would tell you if you have some time to yourself, do what brings you the most joy.  Just think in a year from now, events/people/things which gave us the most stress presently, will be a fleeting memory.  A lesson I remind myself of everyday.  Don’t sweat the small stuff and try to appreciate all the positive fortune surrounding you. It’s there I promise.  Be well and stay safe.

Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara
review and photos.

Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara.

Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara.

Mascara is the one cosmetic that must be replaced every two months, so spending up to thirty dollars on a tube does not bode well with my cosmetic ethics 🙂  Even though I have naturally long lashes, I always purchase lengthening formulas. Volumizing mascaras tend to coagulate by the end of the second week; the resulting goop inevitably makes my lashes look like spider legs.  So when certain youtube personalities (watch Melissa’s review here) raved about Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara ($15 US/ 8g) and how it gave unbelievable volume (sans clumps and flakes) and length, I knew a purchase was in order.  I do write a blog after all….yes?

The Pros:

Without getting too technical or verbose–this little darling is truly fabulous!!  Let the pictures speak for themselves.

IMG_7752IMG_7759

Mary Kay Lash Love Lenghtening Mascara in I♥ black has a dry-thin consistency.  The rubber brush is standard size and the curved shape design holds on to just the right amount of product to be distributed onto the lashes.  The amount/spacing of the bristles allows the brush to comb through each lash and really define and coat the hairs beautifully.

I easily applied two coats of Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara and the results were slightly voluminous, long and defined lashes.  I could have pushed the envelop and applied an additional coat, but that would have been a bit too extreme merely for a Costco visit.  Removal was easily achieved with any makeup remover and/or facial wash.

My lashes did not feel stiff or weighed down.  Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara must be formulated with a refined wax that dries down quickly, which allows for easy, clump-free layering.  I did not experience any flaking or migration throughout the day.  The cashier at the store wanted to know if I was wearing false lashes, when my response was no, she replied in a surprised manner, “Are you sure?” Yeah, I’m positive (in my most Marisa Tomei voice from My Cousin Vinny).

The Cons:

Mary Kay Lash Love can be purchased only from a MK representative, the company does not accommodate online orders, which is not suitable for many people.  This formula does contains parabens, however most of the mascaras I use are not paraben-free. Unfortunately, the more natural formulas do not work well on me.

Mary Kay Cosmetics can be purchased from a Mary Kay representative here.  If you are feeling brave, Ebay sells tubes of Mary Kay here.

THE VERDICT:  If makeup could talk what would it say?

Makeup would tell you if you like the results you see in the photos, do not hesitate to jump on the Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara band wagon.  This formula gave unbelievable length and some volume, prehaps the regular Lash Love would provide more volume.  I am a very satisfied customer indeed; now I have to roll up my sleeves, contact my Mary Kay representative, put-on my social smile and stock up on this bad boy.  Until next time, be well and stay safe.
