Giorgio Armani Eye and Brow Maestro 2 Wenge Wood review and photos.

Giorgio Armani Eye and Brow Maestro

Giorgio Armani Eye and Brow Maestro 2 Wenge Wood.

Lately, Giorgio Armani has been making quite an impression here at IMCT.  My HG Sheer Blush 10 Beige, my beloved Eyes to Kill Solo Eyeshadows (reviewed here, here and here) and my one lone nail lacquer (reviewed here), have been on constant rotation in my routine.  Naturally, when Giorgio Armani Eye and Brow Maestro 2 Wenge Wood ($34 USD/ 5g.) began making the rounds on the blogging circuit, I somehow knew this product would be another success.  Did I need to buy another brow product?  No, but this is not about need, this is a case of, I want, therefore, I shall have.  Sounds a little scary…yup, I can sometimes get that way.  I’m just so happy this impulsive purchase worked out for the best 🙂

The Pro to Giorgio Armani Eye and Brow Maestro 2 Wenge Wood:

  1. Gorgeous cool gray/brown with a hint of violet pearl.  According to Armani’s lead makeup artist, Laura Cantello, the addition of the violet pearl keeps the color from appearing too dull and flat against hair’s natural lustre.
  2. Delicate violet pearl is completely unnoticeable once applied to the brows.
  3. Can be used as an eyeliner, eyeshadow, and brow color.
  4. Fingers work beautifully to apply and blend out the color for eyeshadow use.
  5. Soft buildable texture dries down within a minute, giving you plenty of time to make any necessary corrections.
  6. Once the formula sets, it does not budge.
  7. Can be applied lightly or heavily depending on one’s desired effect.
  8. Synthetic brushes work best to apply the color to the brows and the upper lash line.
  9. Lasts for 12 hours+ and stays put even during a workout.
  10. Removes easily at night without tugging or pulling the skin around the delicate eye area.
  11. 2 Wenge Wood is perfect for those with dark-brown and black eyebrows.
  12. Housed in a sturdy glass jar to ensure product does not dry out easily.
  13. Substantial amount of product, will last a lot longer than Stila Brow Pen or Suqqu Eyebrow Pen (seen here).
  14. Formulated without parabens.
  15. Comes in nine shades–although 9 Gold is strictly for eyeshadow use.
  16. Made in France.

The Cons to Giorgio Armani Eye and Brow Maestro 2 Wenge Wood:

  1. Not as quick and convenient as a brow pencil or pen.
  2. Color tends to remove easily if not given the chance to set.  Give the product a minute before using a spooly brush to blend out the color.
  3. Can be easily overdone if one is not careful when applying the color to the brows.
  4. Beautiful subtle violet pearl does not show-up when applied as an eyeshadow.  The color translates into a slate gray.
  5. Contains paraffin (aka: mineral oil) and loads of silicones.

**Nars Eyeshadow Primer is the base for all the eye looks along with Inglot #90 AMC Liner on the upper waterline.  **Apologies for the lighting variation.  As you may already know, I take my photographs in front of my oversized window, therefore, I am very dependant on sunlight…however, pesky clouds occasionally insist on crashing my party.

For the above photo, Wenge Wood was applied to the brows and upper lash line using my MEME Angled Brush (reviewed here).  I paired this look with MUFE M-600 in the crease and M-510 on the brow bone–all the while, keeping the lid free from all other colors.  YSL 7 Gold Star was used on the waterline with MUFE ME-654 on the lower lash line.

For the above photo, Wenge Wood was used to define the brows and applied as an eyeshadow (with my ring finger) on the lids using 2 light coats.  MUFE M-600 was softly applied in the crease along with M-510 on the brow bone.  Milani Eyeliner was used on the upper lash line with MUFE ME-654 on the lower lash line.

For the above photo, Wenge Wood was applied with my Meme Angled Brush thickly along the upper lash line and blended mid-way on the lid with my Billy B #12 Brush.  L’Oreal Infallible Eyeliner Pencil was used along the upper lash line, with MUFE M-600 in the crease and M-510 on the brow bone.  Givenchy 9 Brun Cachmire was combined with Cargo Waterproof Bronzer for the lower lash line color, along with ME-512 on the inner corner and YSL 7 Gold Star on the lower waterline.

THE VERDICT:  If makeup could talk what would it say?

Makeup would tell you Giorgio Armani Eye and Brow Maestro 2 Wenge Wood is worth your time and money.  This fantastic product not only delivers on the longevity claim, but the color and texture proved incredibly versatile.  Which shade do you plan on getting?  I hear the gold shade calling my name 🙂  Be well, stay safe and be happy.

Comments

  1. Oh wow, the staying power sounds ah-mazing! I’m impressed! GG Giorgio! 😉

  2. Hey Maria, I really like how your brows look with Wenge Wood! I wasn’t sure what to make of it when I saw the swatches, but it looks very natural on! I need to look into these. I am a bit of a brow product addict. Even though I have pretty much found my HG (Hourglass Soft Brunette Arch), I don’t say no to trying something else that sounds promising!

    • Hello Sunny,

I agree, at first glance I too was skepitcal this color would work on my dark brows. In fact, when I got the color, I had a–“oh boy what the heck did I buy now” moment. However, when I applied it, the color and finish were so natural. I must look into this Hourglass pencil you speak of, because you know we can never have enough brow products 🙂

  3. I love how the color is described as “cool gray/brown with a hint of violet pearl” a color which is very hard to find in cream form. It would make a great base for some eye looks. I have to keep this color in mind as I try to think up some tutorials.

    Gorgeous as always!!!

    • Hello Olivia,

Thank you my friend. I did take your suggestion and tested this as an eyeshadow base with Giorgio Armani ETKS 2 Armani Navy and the outcome was beautiful 🙂 Knowing you, whatever look you plan on using with Wenge Wood, it will be amazing!
