Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Collection Overview.

My Bobbi Brown Collection.

My Bobbi Brown Collection.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is the one brand I consider to be a one stop shopping label (apart from foundation).  For the most part, many people are not into outrageous makeup looks, most seek quality products that yield a refined look.  Bobbi Brown has cornered the market in that regard.  Her no-fuss minimal packaging and fresh, natural approach to makeup has lead her to create a line that dominates among professional women world-wide. For your consideration, I present my Bobbi Brown Makeup Collection.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Face Products:

My Bobbi Brown Collection Face Products L-R: Bronze Shimmer Brick, Bronzing Powder Medium 2, Soft Pink 7 Blush, Pale Pink 9 Blush.

My Bobbi Brown Collection Face Products L-R:
Bronze Shimmer Brick, Bronzing Powder Medium 2, Soft Pink 7 Blush, Pale Pink 9 Blush.

  • Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick ($42 USD/10.3g) is the one product that I rarely use on a daily basis; personally, it is too dark for me to use as a highlighter.  This shade would look spectacular on darker-skinned beauties as a highlighter.  This compact is reserved strictly for eyeshadow use only.
  • Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder Medium 2 ($38 USD/8g) is a ruddy based bronzing powder.  The finely milled pigmented formula is quite pronounced against my light olive skin tone.  My Chikuhodo Cheek Brush (reviewed here) is the perfect brush to apply and blend this dark horse to gradient perfection.
  • Bobbi Brown Soft Pink 7 Blush ($26 USD/3.7g)  is not a soft pink color by any stretch of the imagination.  This highly pigmented satin blush must be applied with a very light hand.  Admittedly, Bobbi Brown makes some of the best blushes in the business; this puppy lasts well throughout the day with very minimal fading.
  • Bobbi Brown Pale Pink 9 Blush ($26 USD/3.7g) was once upon a time the only blush I would wear.  As you can tell, there is nothing pale about this bright vibrant matte pink color.  The lasting power is amazing and one of the few colors that would suit a variety of skin tones.  If Bobbi came out with a color identical to Giorgio Armani #10 Blush (reviewed here) I would snatch it up in a heart beat.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Powder Eyeshadows:

Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Swatches L-R: Metallic Eye Shadow Gold Dust 18, Espresso 32, Bone 2, Taupe 4, Bone 16, Black Charcoal 2F, Navajo 53.

Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Swatches L-R:
Metallic Eye Shadow Gold Dust 18, Espresso 32, Bone 2, Taupe 4, Bone 16, Black Charcoal 2F, Navajo 53.

  • Bobbi Brown Metallic Gold Dust 18  ($22 USD/2.8g) is shimmery warm gold eyeshadow.  I love to pair this powder shadow on top of Bobbi Brown Sandy Gold Cream Shadow.  Due to the high metallic sheen, this particular color would not be suitable for more mature lids.
  • Bobbi Brown Espresso 32 ($22 USD/2.5g) is a matte dark brown eyeshadow.  This shadow does not budge and looks spectacular applied on the upper lash line against a black liquid liner.  This can also be used in the outer corner, outer “v” and to set a gel liner.
  • Bobbi Brown Bone 2 ($22 USD/2.5g) is a matte cream-colored shade that is used everyday.  This very unassuming shade is completely indispensable in my daily makeup routine.  Love it!
  • Bobbi Brown Taupe 4 ($22 USD/2.5g) is a matte brown used as a blend out color, crease color and bronzer.  I purchased this shade to add to my six pan BB compact for its multi-purpose qualities.
  • Bobbi Brown Bone 16 ($22 USD/2.5g) is the illuminated version of Bone 2.  Great all over lid shade for a quick and easy polished look.
  • Bobbi Brown Black Charcoal 2F ($22 USD/2.5g) is a very pigmented matte black eyeshadow.  The smooth creamy formula beats MAC Carbon any day.
  • Bobbi Brown Navajo 53 ($22 USD/2.5g) is a matte cream-white color.  Great blend out color or all over lid color.  I find most of these paler shades need to packed on for maximum color impact.  For more substantial wear and color, pair them with Bobbi Brown Shore Cream Shadow.

  • As mentioned in a previous post (here) Bobbi Brown makes some of the best gel liners ($24 USD/3g) in the business.  I adore the color selection and the multi-purpose functionality of these eyeliners.  I love to use them as eyeliners, eyeshadows and bases for powder eyeshadows.  Denim Ink, Cobalt Ink, and Twilight Night Shimmer Ink are formulated on the drier side and are a bit difficult to blend as eyeshadows.  However, Chocolate Shimmer Ink, Graphite Shimmer Ink, Forest Ink Shimmer Ink and Violet Ink apply smoothly and blend out beautifully.

  • Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Shore 35 ($25 USD/3.5g) is a staple in my collection; I am on my second pot.  This cream-colored shade evens out skin tone and makes an outstanding base for powdered eyeshadows.  My only criticism pertains to the small opening of the pots; I find it quite awkward to get my brush in and around the pot.
  • Bobbi Brown  Long-Wear Cream Shadow Sandy Gold 4 ($25 USD/3.5g) is a golden base cream-colored shadow.  Not a complete necessity, but does add beautiful dimension to powder eyeshadows when used as a base.
  • Bobbi Brown Bronzer Brush ($54 USD) is not my favorite brush (seen and compared here).  All Bobbi Brown Brushes are made in China and they do not compare, in terms of quality to Tom Ford Brushes or Chikuhodo Brushes.  After two years, my BB Bronzer Brush continues to shed every time I use it to apply any powder product to my face.
  • Bobbi Brown Ultra-Fine Eyeliner Brush ($27 USD) is not my favorite gel eyeliner brush.  The tip is too wide and the handle is too long for my liking.  I prefer Laura Mercier Liner Brush (seen here) or my Estee Lauder Angled Eyeliner Brush.

THE VERDICT:  If makeup could talk what would it say?

Makeup would tell you Bobbi Brown makes some outstanding products.  I consider her powder eyeshadows irreplaceable in my collection.  The amount offered (2.5g) is also quite appealing.  Granted they are expensive compared to other lines, but the quality more than justifies the price.  Keep in mind, Bobbi Brown is sold at CCO locations and I’ve noticed the Bobbi Brown displays always have a great selection of merchandise.  I hope this was helpful.  What are some of your favorite Bobbi Brown products? Be well and stay safe.

  4. Natalie says:

I am a big fan of Bobbi Brown makeup, as well as your site! I was especially interested in the application of Bone 2 Eyeshadow and Espresso 32 Eyeshadow, and sure enough you followed up with a picture of the combination! Thank you very much for posting!

    • Hello Natalie,
I’m glad I was able to help you visually see those eyeshadows in action. Bone 2 really needs to be packed on; however, utilizing Shore Cream Shadow as a base helps bring out Bone 2’s true color. Thank you for the lovely compliment and for stopping by and commenting.

  5. That is quite a collection! I agree Bobbi does a great line of wearable colors. I know some people say it is boring. I disagree because the makeup road usually leads to wearable neutrals unless one is in the business of being clown!

I have met Bobbi and she is one of the nicest makeup people I have met. So down to earth and real!

Again, great collection and great looks!

    • Hello Olivia,
Meeting Bobbi must have been so inspiring. Her makeup philosophy is so simple and basic..it’s a wonder no one thought of it sooner. I love to hear when people have positive encounters with famous people. Hats off to BB..I like her line even more now! Thank you for sharing your experience and for all of your support.
