Vincent Longo Copper Kiss La Riviera Sun Face and Body Bronzer review and comparisons.

Vincent Longo Copper Kiss La Riviera Sun Face and Body Bronzer.

Bronzers are a must-have for many people; they impart the look of a healthier complexion by adding warmth to the skin and add a finishing touch to any look.  Many makeup enthusiast pride themselves on coveting a “fresh” compact every summer season–myself included.  This year my choice was Vincent Longo Copper Kiss La Riviera Sun Face and Body Bronzer ($32 USD/9g).  This beautiful bronzer was just as silky as Vincent Longo Sandalwood Blush and dare I say, better than any other bronzer in my collection; now that’s a bold statement indeed 🙂

The Pros to Vincent Longo Copper Kiss La Riviera Sun Face and Body Bronzer:

  1. Finely milled soft, silky smooth formula glides on the skin with ease.
  2. Beautiful medium brown color with slight red undertones.
  3. Pinky/champagne “meteorite pearls” imparts a luminous finish without any shimmer.
  4. Lightweight pigmented formula is best applied with a soft round brush.
  5. Blends seamlessly and can be built-up without looking caky.
  6. Lasts 8 hours + dependent on one’s activities.
  7. Imparts a lovely bronzed luminosity when applied on the décolletage.
  8. Amazing amount/price ratio.
  9. Can be used as an eyeshadow..very similar in color to MAC Groundwork Paint Pot.  Copper Kiss has been my go-to crease color since its acquisition.
  10. Can also be used as a blush for medium and darker complexions.
  11. Well constructed compact with a magnetic closure.
  12. Just like Sandalwood, Copper Kiss’s compact opens completely flat for easy access to the powder; a feature makeup artists would appreciate.
  13. 4 color choices to suit a variety of skin tones.
  14. Slight fig fragrance which is imperceptible after a couple of minutes.
  15. Formulated without parabens or mineral oil.
  16. Made in Italy.

The Cons to Vincent Longo Copper Kiss La Riviera Sun Face and Body Bronzer:

  1. Blush and Bronzers compacts are identical.  A bit confusing during a busy morning, unless compacts are stored upside down.
  2. Limited retail locations..mostly sold online.
  3. Due to the soft texture, powder kick-up is inevitable if a dense brush is utilized.
  4. Lighter skin tones may find his color too overwhelming–Beauty Sin or Golden Glow would make better choices.
  5. No other cons…this maybe my favorite bronzer yet.

Vincent Longo Copper Kiss La Riviera Sun Face and Body Bronzer on the hollows of the cheeks, on the temples and along the jaw line.

  • For the above photos, Vincent Longo Copper Kiss was applied with my Chikuhodo Z-8 Cheek Brush (reviewed here) on the hollows of the cheeks, on the temples, on the nose and along the jaw line.  This paired beautifully with Vincent Longo Sandalwood Dew Drop Blush.  Due to the complex nature of this color, Copper Kiss also makes an outstanding eyeshadow for those mornings when a quick and easy look is required.

  • Bobbi Brown Medium 2 Bronzing Powder is a very deep ruddy based bronzer; not as smooth as Copper Kiss and requires a lot more blending for the color to appear seamless.
  • Dior Skin Nude Tan 003 Cinnamon was a color a Sephora rep talked me into buying.  My initial hesitation was substantiated from the first moment I applied this bad boy.  On my complexion, the color seemed to oxidize throughout the day into a muddy orange hue.
  • Laura Mercier Ritual was my 2013 summer obsession.  Ritual has a matte base with suspended red shimmers running throughout the formula.  Copper Kiss is silkier to the touch and slightly more luminous without being obvious.
  • Edward Bess Daydream (old formula) is a lovely neutral bronzer.  Vincent Longo Copper Kiss is a bit more rosy and has a subtle luminosity.  I no longer use this bronzer, because it contains parabens.  Edward’s newly formulated Daydream Bronzers do not.
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is a classic shade.  This color smells divine and the texture is wonderful.  However, if a heavy hand is used during application, the color has the potential to look muddy on certain skin tones.
