One of my favorite makeup artists is Billy B.  I enjoy his personality, his brushes (reviewed here) and his no-fuss makeup techniques.  Billy is also a consultant makeup artist for L’Oreal Paris.  It just so happens, one of my all time favorite eyeshadow formula is L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows.  What a perfectly delightful union…for me 🙂

In a recent tutorial (here) Billy used a beautiful brown eyeshadow called Bottomless Java ($6-8 US/3.5 g) to crete a sultry evening look.  I decided to pair this chocolate pot of deliciousness with Endless Pearl (basic cream-colored eyeshadow) to create my own subdued version of a cut-crease look (outlining of the eye socket).  Be warned, Endless Pearl renders a very chalky swatch, but fortunately it applies seamlessly on the lids.  The Infallible line of shadows are long-wearing and affordable, it would be a makeup sin not to invest in at least one color.  I hope my Billy B. inspired drugstore eye makeup look is helpful.  Enjoy!

  • Apply L’Oreal Bottomless Java Infallible Eyeshadow in the crease (beneath the orbital bone for me) and along the lash line using Billy B. #12 eye brush (purchase here).

  • Heavy application of Bottomless Java.  My deep-set eyes hide the crease color, which makes reapplication a must after each bout of blending.

  • Add your favorite drugstore black liner.  I used Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen (reviewed here) and blended out the edges of the crease color with a blush or bronzer of your choice (I used Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #4).
Add mascara and line the bottom lash line with Bottomless Java.

  • Add your favorite mascara.  I used Bare Minerals Lash Domination ♥ (review coming soon..purchase here) and lined the lower lash line with Bottomless Java.  I also lined my lower waterline with Rimmel Scandal Eyes in 005 Nude (purchase here).  I used Inglot #90 (purchase here) to tight line the upper waterline.

  • Billy B. adds a black color on top of Bottomless Java to give more drama and dimension to the look. However attractive it may appear on Lenora Claire, for me it would be too overwhelming.  I prefer a more subtle look; to each his own.

THE VERDICT:  If makeup could talk what would it say?

Makeup would say the most inexpensive makeup can look stunning with a little know-how and the right tools.  Quality brushes can make a difference in how your makeup will ultimately turn-out.  I used only two brushes for this look and the end results were rather impressive.  Billy B. has wonderful brushes that will not break the bank (especially if you buy the set) and get the job done.  I’m also addicted to watching his home remodeling projects featured on his channel (here).  A true artist!  Until next time, be well and stay safe.
